There is a vast property in northern Spain consisting of natural forests, olive groves, organic agricultural land, pure spring water, a large farmhouse and an ancient ermita, hidden amongst the nature in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains. Welcome to La Buixeda.

After years of living and working with communities around the world Moss bought this finca in 2022 with the intention to cultivate an ecosystem of like minded people to thrive, work purposefully and develop their unique gifts in the world; where curiosity, creativity, collaboration, compassion and exchange are channelled into prosperous projects, where people can be supported in their existential quests to live well: healthy of body, intelligent of mind, rich of spirit, respectful of wisdom, creative of beauty and caring of nature.

​La Buixeda (Buishēda) es una gran finca con bosques, olivares, tierras de agricultura orgánica, agua de manantial, una masia y una antigua ermita, rodeada de naturaleza y tierras de cultivo en el norte de España con magnificas vistas a los Pirineos.

La intención del proyecto es co-crear un ecosistema comunitario autosostenible, regenerativo y vibrante para que las personas vivan, trabajen y jueguen juntas conectando con ellas mismas, entre sí y con la naturaleza.

Core Values

• Self-Study: Inquiry, reflection, daily sadhana, meditation, conscious movement, prayer, communion with nature and/or developing presence in our daily lives are important to us; We value a rich experience of life/truth/spirit/God/existence/etc; we try to be aware of our ego's desires, fears and shadow qualities, to develop awareness of our motives, thoughts and actions; we strive to be open to what life brings and respond skillfully; we seek truth and authenticity; we honour our vital energy to create a purposeful life; we value developing positive qualities like gratitude, compassion, generosity, awareness, truthfulness, discipline, courage, responsibility; we listen to the wisdom that comes from the quietness of our own minds, the love in our hearts and the intuition in our guts.
• Community. We endeavour to listen with an open mind with curiosity to what others share; We’re open to diverse opinions, personalities, beliefs and character traits; we aim for transparency and clear communication; We are generous and flexible with each other; we enjoy sharing circles and group activities. We understand that living with diverse people/perspectives often takes extra effort and sometimes discomfort; we are willing to work through difficult relations, arguments and situations to find common ground; we value compassion and kindness. We are genuinely interested in the destinations that arise through conversation and collaboration.
• Nature. We see Nature as vitally important and sacred; we are not separate from nature; plants and animals are like friends, family, teachers and dependents; our duty is to care for the living beings around us responsibly and respectfully; we respect a vegetarian lifestyle while we are staying at La Buixeda; we strive to bring awareness and independence from any addictive behaviours, which may also include dependency on technology; man-made tools can be useful so long as they develop our connections to nature, other beings and ourselves. We’d like to play a part in nature conservation, protection and regeneration. In nature we see our reflection; we want to understand it and help it flourish within us and all around us.
• Sustainability. We want to support a regenerative ecosystem where our common needs are fulfilled as much as possible within the community: food, water, shelter, energy, safety, belonging, love, purpose and prosperity; together we create organic gardens, food forests, water management, green energy, natural construction, community spaces and finding ways for members to earn a livelihood—retreats, regenerative tourism, events, education, organic produce, artistic and artisan creations, innovative ideas and services.
• Volunteering. Work-As-Meditation, Karma Yoga: Aligning the mind, body, emotions and spirit fills our work with presence and purpose; We want to be skillful, intentional and conscientious with our vital energy. We enjoy serving the wellness of others, our community and a healthy Earth by generously offering our finest qualities and gifts to the world. Work done from a place of awareness, joy, generosity and love is a masterpiece. The fruits of our labour may not be guaranteed but the journey should be rewarding unto itself. Ora et Labora.
• Play. The theatre of life is meant to be played and played well; laughter is of fundamental importance in our lives as is living joyfully; So we look for ways to expand into joy with others and we’re interested in gatherings that make life fun and juicy; we try to keep an optimistic spirit in the face of adversity. We try not to take ourselves too seriously. We’re monkeys, we like to laugh. Life is beautiful.

Karma Yoga Program:

• Basic accommodation
• Healthy vegetarian meals;
• Daily Karma Yoga (work as meditation), co-creating community projects;
• If you volunteer less than 28 hours per week we ask for a donation to cover community expenses;
• Morning self practice time for sadhana/meditation/yoga/qi gong;
• Activities, excursions and sharing circles;

Tengo o quiero desarrollar una práctica diaria como meditación, yoga, autoinvestigación , reflexión, oración, ejercicio físico, conexión espiritual con la tierra; Valoro las cualidades positivas como la gratitud, la tranquilidad, la compasión, la generosidad, la veracidad; Pretendo traer conciencia a mi ego, deseos, miedos y rasgos de sombra; Trato de desarrollar la conciencia de mis motivos, pensamientos y acciones, me esfuerzo por estar presente y abierto a lo que la vida trae y me adapto hábilmente; Busco la verdad y la autenticidad, honro mi energía vital para crear una vida con propósito;

• Sostenibilidad. Tengo la intención de co-crear un ecosistema donde las necesidades de la comunidad se satisfagan tanto como sea posible dentro de la comunidad: comida, agua, refugio, amor, seguridad, pertenencia, propósito, abundancia financiera y prosperidad; desarrollar huertos orgánicos, bosques alimentarios, árboles frutales, seguridad hídrica, renovar la casa, crear espacios comunitarios y encontrar formas para que los residentes se ganen la vida: retiros, turismo sostenible, eventos, productos orgánicos, creaciones artísticas y artesanales, etc.
• Voluntario/Karma-yoga. Valoro poner mi energía vital a pleno uso para el bien común. El trabajo que hago o quiero hacer alinea mi cuerpo/mente/emociones/espíritu; Soy responsable, intencional y consciente con mi energía vital. El trabajo hecho desde un lugar de presencia, generosidad, alegría y amor es una obra maestra. Quiero servir a mi comunidad, el bienestar de los demás, una Tierra sana y conexión con el Espíritu; Ora et Labora;
• ​Jugar. Puedo ser sincero sin tomarme demasiado en serio; Disfruto del teatro de la vida y trato de representarlo bien; la risa tiene una importancia fundamental como vivir con alegría; Busco formas de jugar juntos, reuniones que mantengan la vida divertida y jugosa; Trato de mantener un espíritu optimista ante la adversidad.
